Mehjabeen Datoo completed her PhD at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education at the University of Toronto, investigating whether and how technology can be used to understand and shift perspectives in the teaching of Muslim cultures and civilizations. She received Masters degrees in Learning, Design and Technology from Stanford University and in Curriculum from Simon Fraser University. She worked previously for the Ismail, Muslim Religious Education Board supporting curriculum implementation and teacher development and for Simon Fraser University supporting teachers in inquiry-based professional development. She is currently a Secondary Humanities teacher in the Richmond School District and adjunct faculty with the University of British Columbia.
